About these terms
These terms form a contract between you and [YOUR LEGAL NAME OR TRADING NAME] ("we", "us", "Little Stars"). By signing up for or using Little Stars, you agree to them.
Note for the operator: replace [YOUR LEGAL NAME OR TRADING NAME] above with your registered business name. If you're a UK Ltd company, also add the company number and registered office address.
Who can use Little Stars
- You must be 18 or older to create an account.
- The account is for your family. The parent or guardian creates the account and adds children. Children should not create accounts themselves.
- You're responsible for everything that happens on your account, including content created for or about any children you add.
- One account per email address.
Your account
- Keep your password secure. We'll never ask you for it.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else has accessed your account: hello@littlestarsapp.co.uk.
- We may suspend or close accounts that are inactive for 24 months — we'll email you first.
Acceptable use
By using Little Stars you agree NOT to:
- Use Little Stars to harass, shame, punish, or harm any child
- Upload content that's illegal, abusive, sexually explicit, or harmful to a minor
- Try to break, scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the service
- Use automated tools to create accounts or post content
- Resell or sublicense access to the service
- Pretend to be someone else, or impersonate a child
- Use the service to send spam or unwanted messages
We take these rules seriously, especially anything involving children. We'll suspend or terminate accounts that break them.

The Free plan covers:
- Up to 5 children on one family account
- 10 active chores at a time
- 5 rewards
- Mood and feelings tracking
Free forever, no card required.
Premium plan
- £4.99 GBP per month, collected monthly by Direct Debit via GoCardless

Auto-renewal
Premium subscriptions renew monthly until you cancel. We'll collect £4.99 by Direct Debit on each renewal date via GoCardless, which emails you confirmation of each payment. All payments are protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee.
Refunds
If Premium isn't right for your family, email hello@littlestarsapp.co.uk within 14 days of being charged and we'll refund you, no questions asked. After 14 days, refunds are at our discretion.
Cancellation
You can cancel anytime from the Manage Subscription button. Premium access continues until the end of the billing period you've already paid for. After that, your account drops back to the Free plan limits — your data isn't deleted.
Price changes
If we change the price of Premium, we'll email you at least 30 days before the new price applies to your subscription. You can cancel before then if you don't want to pay the new price.
Service availability
We aim for 99.5% uptime measured monthly. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or 100% secure. We may need to take it offline for maintenance — we'll try to do this at quiet times and communicate when we can.
Service changes
We may update, change, add, or remove features. For changes that materially reduce what you've paid for, we'll give reasonable notice (usually 30 days) and offer a refund where appropriate.
Termination
- You can stop using Little Stars at any time and ask us to delete your data.
- We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms — usually with notice, but immediately if there's a risk of harm to anyone (especially children).
- If we close the service entirely, we'll give at least 60 days' notice and let you export your data first.
Your content
The content you create in Little Stars (chore titles, reward names, mood logs, photos, etc.) is yours. We don't claim ownership.
By using the service, you give us a limited licence to store and display your content within Little Stars, to your family, so the app can function. This licence ends when you delete the content or close your account.
Our content
The Little Stars name, logo, brand design, software, and any text or graphics we create are owned by us (or licensed to us). You can't copy, reuse, or sell them without permission.
Limitation of liability
Little Stars is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses (for example, lost time, lost profits, data loss caused by your own actions).
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim. For free users, that's nil.
- Nothing in these terms excludes liability that can't legally be excluded — for example, for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Privacy
How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy. By using Little Stars you agree to that policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally. If we make a meaningful change, we'll email you and bump the "last updated" date. Continued use after the change means you accept the new version. If you don't agree with a change, you can close your account.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Nothing in this section affects your rights as a consumer to bring proceedings in the country where you live, where local law gives you that right.

Heads-up: we drafted these in plain English. If anything is unclear, ask. We'd rather explain a clause than rely on small print no one reads.
